Lizzy's Do's and Don'tsLizzy is always getting into trouble, and her mother is always telling her off. The book is in rhyme:

Don't try to reach what's out of reach.
Don't bring the sand home from the beach.
Don't feed the kitty cat a peach.
Don't, don't, don't.
She then tells her mother off, again in rhyme! Don't hide my candy up so high.
Don't put nuts in the apple pie.
When I ask why, don't frown and sigh.
In the second half of the book, they decide it's better to accentuate the positive, talking about what Lizzy likes her mother to do, and what her mother likes Lizzy to do, do, do. The illustrations by Lindsay Harper DuPont are fun and vigorous, and this book may well appeal to many mothers and young daughters. It may also help to ease the tension in a household after some difficult days when daughters get into trouble with their mothers.
