Service Overview

Emergency psychiatric evaluations at secure locations

SCAMHC provides psychiatric emergency evaluations 24 hours a day. While most evaluations can be accomplished during regular business hours, immediate after-hours response is available when needed. After-hours evaluations are conducted at secure locations such as a local emergency room or police station — for the safety of all involved. Any individual in Butler, Coffee, Covington, or Crenshaw County who requires help in an emotional or psychiatric crisis qualifies — regardless of age, ability to pay, or prior diagnosis.
