Adult Outpatient Services

SCAMHC offers outpatient services in Butler, Coffee, Covington, and Crenshaw counties utilizing group counseling and individual therapy to address client needs — the least restrictive treatment setting we offer.

Service Overview

The least restrictive level of care — built around you

Adult Outpatient is the least restrictive treatment setting SCAMHC has to offer. In order to meet the needs of those presenting for outpatient counseling services, SCAMHC has moved to a group counseling modality utilizing short-term or as needed individual therapy/counseling. Individuals may request services in the county in which they reside or can choose to seek services in any county. Transportation is not provided.

  • Intake and individualized treatment planning/goal setting

  • Medication monitoring, administration, and physician/medical assessments
  • Individual, group, and family therapy, plus family support
  • Crisis intervention
  • Referrals for In-Home, Case Management, Day Rehabilitation, and Residential Care

Who Qualifies

Outpatient services are open to most adults

You may qualify if you meet the criteria for a serious mental illness, are in a crisis situation requiring immediate management, or have been discharged from an inpatient psychiatric hospital. We accept most insurance — please have your information ready when you call. Financial aid is available on a limited basis for those without coverage. Individuals who do not meet admission criteria will be referred to private resources or other social service agencies.
