Prevention Programs
Targeted educational initiatives across schools and community centers — promoting mental wellness and reducing the risk of mental illness, substance abuse, tobacco use, suicide, and violence before they reach a crisis point.
Building resilience before crisis strikes
Our prevention program promotes a community environment in which individuals, families, schools, and workplaces take action to promote emotional health and reduce the likelihood of mental illness, substance abuse, tobacco use, and suicide. Programs are available for both youth and adults across our four-county service area. SCAMHC also participates in cross-agency staffing and service coordination through task forces, interagency committees, and other collaborative meetings, and provides program consultation to other agencies on request.
- Substance abuse and tobacco prevention and cessation
- Suicide prevention and intervention (ASIST, QPR)
