South Central Alabama Mental Health Center ensures no one falls through the cracks. We provide referrals and community linkage at screening, intake, placement, or anytime during treatment when needed. We coordinate seamlessly with external providers to secure the best outcomes.
Secure & Documented
All referrals — both incoming and outgoing — are securely documented in the consumer's primary electronic health record, with explicit written consent obtained.
Rapid Clinical Response
Incoming referrals are immediately placed in pending status, assigned to an appropriate clinical team, and documented with a detailed Contact Note.
Safety-First Protocol
If a referring entity reports immediate safety concerns (harm to self or others), we activate emergency protocols for immediate stabilization or dispatch an ambulance.
Incoming Referrals
From courts, hospitals, and private physicians. We quickly process demographics, assign a care team, and schedule an initial intake appointment for the patient.
Outgoing Referrals
When a higher level of care or specialized external service is needed, our clinicians secure consent and connect consumers directly to trusted community partners.
Mandated & Court Linkage
We work closely with Court Referral Officers and DHR to support justice-involved individuals through our specialized liaison and education programs.
