Transportation & Access

SCAMHC provides transportation for consumers in our MI residential programs, MI Day Programs, In-Home Intervention, and Case Management Services. We also coordinate with local transit systems and Medicaid Non-Emergency Transportation to help you access care safely.

Safe, reliable rides to the care you need

All vehicles operated by SCAMHC to transport consumers are properly maintained, insured, and driven by qualified staff. To ensure a safe, comfortable experience, all drivers possess a valid driver's license and are prohibited from making unauthorized stops, using mobile devices while driving, leaving consumers unattended, or using tobacco products in the vehicle. Note: SCAMHC Substance Use Disorder treatment vehicles are unmarked to completely protect your privacy.

Properly operating seat belts, child restraint seats, and seasonal climate control.

Regular maintenance inspections and proof of accident/liability insurance.

Vehicles equipped with operational fire extinguishers and unexpired first aid kits.

Strict capacity limits — number of passengers never exceeds available seatbelts.

Covington Area Transit (CATS)

Open to all Covington County residents. Safe, reliable rides for medical appointments, shopping, and work. Wheelchair accessible. Assistants ride free. Call 334-428-2667.

Wiregrass Transit Authority

Demand/response service within Enterprise city limits for $3.00 per one-way trip. Equipped with lifts and wheelchair securement systems. Call to reserve at (334) 417-1217.

Non-Emergency Transportation for eligible full Medicaid recipients to covered medical appointments.

NET Program Facts

How to use the Medicaid NET Program

  • Call 1-800-362-1504 (Option 4) as soon as possible before your appointment.
  • Medicaid only pays for rides to medical care or treatment covered by Medicaid.
  • Medicaid will pay for an escort for a child or dependent adult.
  • Once approved, you will receive payment through the EBT Transportation card.
