Military members, veterans, and their families are recognized as a priority population for our substance use services. From the initial ASAM assessment to outpatient group therapy and residential stabilization at First Step, care is available without delay. We approach recovery without judgment, understanding the unique pressures that accompany service.

Care Options

Substance use services available to veterans

ASAM Assessment

A comprehensive psychosocial evaluation to determine the most appropriate level of care. Walk-in days available in all four counties.

Adult Outpatient Program

Group and individual therapy sessions meeting 2–3 times per week, with both day and evening options to fit your schedule.

First Step Residential

A 24/7 staffed, high-intensity Level III.5 residential program for adult males requiring 14–28 days of focused stabilization.

Co-Occurring Disorders

Integrated treatment for veterans and first responders managing both substance use and mental health conditions concurrently.

Trauma-Informed Care

All substance use treatment is delivered with an understanding of trauma, PTSD, and the culture of military and emergency services.

Peer Support

Certified Recovery Support Specialists with lived experience available to support your recovery journey.

Getting Started

No referral needed — priority access is waiting

Call our SA-OP office at 334-222-2523 or walk in on an Open Access day in your county. Veterans and military members receive priority scheduling. We accept most insurance including TriCare, and will never refuse an assessment based on ability to pay.
