Building resilience, preventing crisis.
Proactive education, community partnerships, suicide intervention training, and a coordinated crisis response network — designed to promote emotional health and reduce the likelihood of mental illness, substance abuse, and suicide across south central Alabama.
Strength in community.
The most effective way to address mental health and substance use issues is before they reach a crisis point. As a United Fund/United Way agency, SCAMHC partners with schools, colleges, churches, civic groups, businesses, and local organizations to build a safety net of awareness, education, and coordinated response — so fewer people ever need to reach a crisis line.
